Our Products

When speaking of Langhe, one thinks of famous wines, tonda gentile hazelnuts and truffles, products that have made Piedmont famous throughout the world. It is a region where the hills dominate and that combines a rich, ancient history with a well-established agricultural tradition. Even UNESCO has defined Langhe as a World Heritage Site.

And the Naturalmente cooperative is situated right in Langhe, precisely in Murazzano, on Strada Provinciale 32 travelling towards Lovera. The estate consists of a 12-hectare plot with Dolcetto vineyards, hazelnut trees and goji berries. All production implements organic farming methods.

Many small details make our vineyards special.
The poles are traditional chestnut, pruning and harvesting are done by hand and the brunches are tied using flexible willow twigs (“gure” in Piedmontese dialect), thus avoiding plastic materials.

Treatments with copper and sulphur, as well as those with organic fertilisation (the only ones allowed in organic farming), are applied by reducing the passage of mechanical vehicles to a minimum, and in many places the work is done by hand due to the steep slopes.
Another important technique calls for planting special varieties of grass in the rows, a solution that reduces the weeds, minimises the number of cuts necessary, and drains moisture from the soil, promoting a better quality of grapes.

The same philosophy applies to the cultivation of hazelnuts and goji berries.
Most of the operations (pruning, fertilisation, harvesting) are performed by hand, in any case limiting the use of mechanical means to a minimum. For the goji berries, paper strips are used to train the branches to avoid polluting the soil with non-biodegradable materials.

VINO

The Naturalmente vineyards only grow organic Dolcetto grapes because the cooperative only produces Langhe Dolcetto DOC in accordance with the regulations of 27 December 2010 of the Piedmont Region. The regulation specifies the mandatory method of cultivation, the work processes allowed and, finally, the physical, taste and aromatic characteristics of the wine.

The Goji

The Lycium barbarum L., better known as goji, is a shrub that produces a slightly elongated red berry known to have interesting positive effects on the human body and which has been used for centuries in China and Japan.

The hazelnuts

The hazelnut grove, cultivated since 2012 according to the rules and philosophy of organic farming, covers two hectares on a slope having a good south-eastern exposure. The cooperative grows round Piedmont Hazelnuts, their quality is guaranteed by the Protected Geographical Indication (PGI) classification, which includes, along with Murazzano, the areas in Piedmont best suited to this crop.
